This autochthon, heavy, red grape variety is a Rumanian peculiarity (also known as “black girl grape”). In the wine region of Transylvania, known for its white wines, this wine surprises by itsexcellent outcome. The color is of an intense, sparkling ruby red, it harbors flavors of dark heart cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant. With its fruity taste the wine lies velvety and round on the palate; the mineral loam soil is responsible for the smooth finish. This wine is comparable to heavy red wines from southern wine regions.
